Award for Resilience and Wellbeing
We are very pleased to have been awarded a resilience and wellbeing award from HeadStart Kent.
School staff through the HeadStart Kent programme have attended training including resilience, youth mental health and implemented mindfulness in the classrooms.
Students have been supported to access peer mentors, safe spaces, online support and counselling and adult mentors. Young people have been undertaking community projects and accessing resources, so they can pursue their talents and interest
in the local community.
The Award to Valley Invicta Primary School at Leybourne Chase was presented to staff and children from the school steering group by Jo Comer, Project Officer from Kent County Council’s, HeadStart Kent Programme on the 11th December 2019.
She said: “It's excellent that the school community is supported with their resilience and emotional wellbeing and that we have a Quality Mark which recognises this progress. The school consistently demonstrates their commitment to emotional wellbeing and resilience.”
Jo congratulated the school on being the first HeadStart School within the Tonbridge and Malling district to achieve the Kent Award.
