Elmer's Big Heart of Kent Parade
On Monday 27 January, a full size baby elephant sculpture will arrive in school!
We have been tasked with decorating him in order for him to go on parade with other Elmers in Maidstone during the summer holiday. After the parade, Elmer will return to Leybourne Chase and will become a resident member of the school.
In order to support this valuable cause, the school has pledged to raise £750.00 for our Elmer. We intend to do this in a number of ways. On 27 January, each class will run a small stall after school, such as number of sweets in a jar, a cake stall, pin the trunk on Elmer and guess the lolly stick.
In addition, on Tuesday 28 January, we will hold an “Elephant Day” - children will be charged £2 for non-uniform as part of the fundraising.
Children’s homework this term was to design their own Elmer coat, and to create a 3D sculpture of Elmer or a jungle animal that we will use to create his new home when he returns to us after his parade.
Please can children hand their homework into school by Friday 24 January. We can't wait to see what they come up with!
If you were unable to download a template from ParentMail please pick one up from the School Office.
