Year 3 Roman day trip

On Monday, the children in Year 3 visited the Museum of Kent Life for a Roman Theme Day, where they spent their time learning about life in Roman Britain.

They met a Roman Centurion who talked them through the different formations of the Roman army, including the “Testudo” which they re-enacted with Roman shields.

They met a “slave” who talked them through what life would have been like for a slave serving in kitchens and even shared some of the typical Roman meals such as baked dormice!

They then had the chance to meet Boudica and talk about why she revolted against the Romans.
